How’d We Get a COVID-19 Vaccine so Fast but None for HIV and Cancer?

The truth is… the COVID vaccine was taken into priority due to money. Cancer and HIV allows health care to profit and increase in its spending. They don’t care about the care of the individual. It’s capitalism, if you don’t know that then you’re an idiot. Because of the business and industries taking a hit from COVID, the central focus is to “create a vaccine” and fix it. But when it comes to cancer it’s not that it’s “too hard” to find the cure. It’s more than “ah we would rather profit”

This comment section has people that: 1. Failed elementary science classes. 2. Have zero medical knowledge. 3. Do not understand statistics 4. Cannot understand any scientific studies or even simple ‘Explain like I’m 5’ articles such as this. 5. Lack any ability to think critically for themselves and instead repeat ‘Big Pharma!”, “Fake News” and “Sheep!”

Omfg12!

What the actual f**k! A plandemic arises and not even a year on a vaccine is produced as a matter of urgency! With millions of people taking it thinking it will ‘stop them from catching covid/spreading it’ How many lives have been lost other diseases such as cancer and aids etc and no vaccines have been produced over how many years of funding and research!? Millions of pounds are donated into ‘cancer research’ and still we don’t have a cure!? Oh dear you brainwashed sheep!

The pharmaceutical industry has made millions and millions on HIV. As far as corporate healthcare is concerned, HIV has been very profitable and are even profiting more by dispensing these expensive drugs to HIV negative people. No rush for a vaccine here.

@Selispeks, people know all of that already. We've all read those articles. Don't go claiming otherwise. People are saying that where there is a will there is a way. There just hasn't been that mass will and mass effort put into producing an HIV vaccine and cure like there has been against Sarscovid2. Mass will and mass effort would have produced an effective vaccine and cure against HIV. So what that it effects T cells!

So the HIV virus mutates quickly. And covid not? There at least 2 new covid variations. Flu vaccine has existed for years. The flu virus mutates quickly. I'm not a medical person, but applying logic without being influenced by paranoia, hysteria, and media, it seems quite logical to me that due to severe lack of long term testing, effects are unknown. Covid didn't kill me, so I think I'll wait.

HIV destroys the very thing needed to eliminate it from the body. The question isn't why isn't there a vaccine, but why did it take 30 years to run the START study! Russia is presently enrolling patients for a large study of DermaVir - a therapeutic vaccine that languished in the ACTG (5176) for ten years. PowderJect was pushed forward with a $1M government grant in the US while DermaVir was delayed for ten years. That's another issue, as PowderJect was tested in HIV- patients.

Why not just write an article containing information without bashing people who don't understand? I just searched this to see why we got a COVID vaccine so quickly when HIV has been ravaging our community for almost half a century and stumbled upon this article, which is clearly aimed at making people feel stupid for not knowing. We live in a country that doesn't educate their people on LGBTQ+ issues, so people don't know this stuff. Instead of being snarky about it just share the info.
