‘Incredibly Concerning’ Lawsuit Threatens No-Charge Preventive Care for Millions

This is the worst of American politics. The plaintiffs, in this case, do not care about the merits. They care that the law was passed by the other party - period. In fact, the blueprint for the ACA was a proposal originally issued by the Heritage Foundation which is a conservative think tank. The only reason the Democratic Congress used that proposal was in a vain hope to get bipartisan support for the ACA. Despite the law coming from conservatives, it got almost no republican votes.

There is no such thing as “no charge” services. Someone is being charged. The question is who pays, the people being treated or the taxpayer.
