I too have had the honor of being in the study for TMC125. I've been on many other drugs in the past and they were starting to fail, but this one worked within a matter of a month I was undectable with little or no side effects. Even though my CD4 count is still low, it's only a matter of time for it to increase.
I've had the honor of being in the study for TMC125. Most of my cocktails have kept me stable, but I saw no real increase to my CD4 count/% for almost 10 years. Etavirine along with other new meds have totally reversed that. Increased overall body mass, decreased fatigue and increased appetite are a few of the 'good' things for me. I have not had an issue with abnormal fat distribution. I would encourage speaking with your medical provider about Etravirine
As with other anti-HIV medicines, Intelence may cause side effects, including changes in body shape or body fat. These changes can happen in patients taking anti-HIV medicine. The changes may include an increased amount of fat in the upper back and neck, breast, and around the back, chest, and stomach area. Loss of fat from the legs, arms, and face may also happen. The exact cause and long term health effects of these conditions are not known.
What are the side effects? ARe there changes in body fat development?

I have been + since 1993. Back in 2001 they had to switch my meds to Viread,Viramune and Ziagen. I had been on all other meds,at the time my t-cells were 500. I was told this was my last cocktail to try, needless to say I was very very scared. Today I am still on the same meds and my t-cells are 1556 and viral load is totally undetectable. I thank everybody involed for all of the new meds available for all of us out there.
