Janssen Therapeutics has awarded its second annual scholarship to an LGBT student focused on studying HIV/AIDS, according to a Janssen statement. The company funds the scholarship through the Point Foundation, which provides scholarships nationwide to LGBT students of merit. This year’s recipient is Michael Haymer of Orange County, California. He is pursuing a joint MD-MBA degree at the University of California at Los Angeles. Haymer has a particular interest in transgender health. Janssen is the first pharmaceutical company to fund a scholarship through the Point Foundation.
