Hi Jason, Your story is inspiring and I can see myself in every sentence you wrote. However, I am still struggling to fully accept myself and the fear of rejection haunts me. I turn to alcohol to relax and sleep but not drugs. I was diagnosed in March 2018, since then my world crumbles into thousand pieces, as well as my dreams. I see rainbow no more and life is a nightmare, a hell under certain circumstances...I feel I do not belong anywhere since I was a kid and it's worse now. Thanks

Jason, I had no idea! But what you've done, and what you're doing now with your life is amazing. It takes an unbelievable amount of strength, humility, and a deep belief in, and relationship with, your Higher Power. I'd love to see you sometime, so if you drive down to see your mother or grandmother, stop in Charlotte and say "Hi!"

First of all I want to congratulate him for his courage. It is admirable, everything he does and his longing to help other people. I am a Medical Doctor of Honduras, and I am currently working in the National AIDS Forum, an organization that works on HIV prevention and promotion and also on the promotion and defense of human rights to eradicate stigma and discrimination.

I can certainly relate to Jason's high school experience. I always felt out of place, but I tried my best to fit in. Dated girls, even had a sexual experience with a classmate (female), but in private I was a mess. Eventually, married had children and then came out to my family because I couldn't stand the struggle to fit in. After coming out, I was diagnosed HIV+. Undetectable and healthy now thanks to advances in HIV meds. Still married and working a very fine tightrope between my obligations.
