File this under “odd HIV criminalization tales”: JohnFranzese, an underboss in the Colombo organized crime family, is on trial forextorting adult clubs in New York City for protection money, the Daily News reports. His son, John Jr., testified against him.Under cross-examination, the defense lawyer got John Jr. to reveal he was HIVpositive. The defense lawyer then asked John Jr. if he had told his brother hehad unprotected sex with women. The prosecutors objected, and the judge toldJohn Jr. not to answer. The brother later told reporters that John Jr. “didn’tconfide that in me.”
