I am 64 years old, lived through civil rights era, black men sent to Vietnam, but parents couldn’t vote, eat in restaurants, came out in 79,in80 we start hearing about g.r.i.d,by mid 80’s friends start dying, mass homophobia,we were terrified of getting sick, made it to2009 before being diagnosed, you younger gays can have a better life than we did,its good to build a life together, all we knew was tricking in 70,80’s,being black and gay was tough,we carry a lot of baggage, civil rights are still at risk.
