With such implants, I always wonder how and if the correct daily dose can get given. A lot of monitoring and measuring of levels must be necessary. If too much is given then can't it be harmful? If too little then can't it become ineffective? And doesn't the tube have to be removed at the end?

HIV Sinc 1995

Each time I read about once a month injectables, implants, monitored takes of medications, the Orwell's 1984 comes to mind. With once a month or once a year HIV prevention available, how long before it becomes court ordered? As long as a court orders a defendant to undergo mandatory HIV treatment, why not chemical castration or slow-releasing psychiatric medications? Why not a combination of all of the above? The loss of patient autonomy is beyond scary and the first steps are in place.
