The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has recognized Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto with Golden Globe nominations for their performances in Dallas Buyers Club, E! reports. The movie tells the story of Ron Woodroof, an HIV-positive heterosexual electrician who died of AIDS-related complications in 1992 after illegally smuggling HIV drugs not approved in the United States and making them available to other people with HIV. McConaughey was nominated for best actor in a drama for playing Woodroof. Leto was nominated for best supporting actor in a drama for his role as Rayon, a transgender woman with HIV who assists Woodroof.
