The hate that is spewed toward Michael on gay sites like The Advocate etc. are terrible, stigma is alive and well and gays are the worst. They want to flay him like fish. All the while they are doing the same thing, but just have not gotten caught yet.
The reason he has to wait so long for release is that there may be a required minimum amount of time he has to serve before he can get paroled. Not sure what the law is in Missouri.
I have to wonder about the five men if they where willing to have sex without a condom with him, whom else had they had sex with and not used a condom? I do hope they tested the strain to make sure he was the one that gave them HIV. Another thing is if these men are of legal age and old enough to have sex, I can not say it was all Michael's fault. They too should share part of the blame, they knew better , no condom,no sex.
So what now for gay men,with grindr and all the sex apps,who knows who exposed who,u run to the police file charges on all your sex partners,Ryan White would have turned 38 this year,he was a brave young man,you young gays don’t realize what is was like in those days,grow up protect yourself,in these red states ,they want to lock u up anyway,act up was not to lock each other up, Michael Johnson was wrong,but Missouri with its hypocrisy,a blackmailing cheating governor,conservative values,ha ha.
I am curious, how much time did the people get who claimed that Johnson had exposed them to his HIV virus ?
I do not condone Micheal Johnsons behavior....but it is such a tough situation to be in when we are young and not sure of our actions. I wish him and the men that he infected only Gods speed.
Great News, Generally when parole is given it can take a couple of weeks in Scotland anyway in order that housing can be found and arrangement made with social work for management of parole. I think that keeping Michael in prison for over a year is wrong but the laws in the states are different from the laws in the UK. I wonder if Michael was on ARV's at the time of his arrest and if so was his viral load undetectable if that was the case he could not pass on the infection.

So unfair to the VICTIMS, this is a POZ site so here he gets sympathy, I guess. No offense, but really ppl, would u be ok if he infected your brother or uncle. Come on what he did was disgusting. I feel like most ppl who are sympathizing with this s**t is probably on his same time.
