Wow ! This is quite a diverse commentary. I think it's paramount that everyone consider the implications of HIV criminalization. It is basically criminalizing normal human behaviors of individuals infected with HIV. SEX is not a crime. Having unprotected sex with someone comes with responsibility. If you haven't gone to be tested with the person your about to have unprotected sex with you are at fault. Remember, this isn't about infecting someone it's about nondisclosure, not transmission

What is actually happening in terms of the law and stigma is we have a created a viscous cycle or a loop if you may of people in these rural areas not receiving proper education and guidance with their illness. They may have sex addictions coupled with a lack of support, clearly so in this case. But instead of fixing the problem it is being perpetuated. The law essentially perpetuates the illness. Sad but true. Who does it benefit? Drug companies.

Yes this is pretty messed up because this is someone you are in a relationship with but seriously people? It is quite rediculous that so many people willingly have unproteced sex all the time! We are definitely conditioning people to rely on the law to protect them after the fact rather than them being assertive and taking responsiblity for their health. Then people don't want to get tested because they dont want to be responsible legally for other people's stupid choices to have unprotected sex.

Please folks-even if you agree that both partners are responsible for their own health and safety-this is no excuse for a person who knowingly witholds such info for purely selfish reasons fearing rejection. Come on! Picture not telling the person you supposedly care about for 1.5 years and watch them get infected, get sick, miss the opportunity to get early treatment. If you know, man, speak up! Don't look the other way and then blame the person who trusted you if they go poz.CRMINAL,INHUMAN!

Aids is no longer a death sentence. The burden of responsibility should be placed on both people equally. Did this person rape or force himself on anybody else without their consent? Wake up Missouri and stop acting like an angry mob fueled by fear at a witch hunt!
