What fear mongering liberal wrote this article??? Comparing Zombies to AIDS is like comparing superhero villains to the homosexual struggle to be able to same sex marry! APPLES AND ORANGES! It's like the whole Star Wars is a pathway to Nazi world domination...NO CORRELATION!!!! Can we please have some articles on this website that cater to normal everyday people with HIV? We don't need anymore liberal agendas, we have enough of that in the failing administration we live under everyday. And FYI Zombies are awesome!
Really? Are you kidding? Exactly what part of this is NOT true 'A virus from an unknown origin laying siege to the human body...no cure in sight.' 'Walking Dead' rocks! Not once did I feel dehumanized by it. Going to the doctor, having him put his finger in my rectum. Making a choice which poisonous cocktail to begin treatment with, now THAT'S dehumanizing; Hmmm do I chose renal failure or toxic acidosis? Natasha, are you poz?
As a person living with this disease alone, sometimes movies is the only escape i have, especialy sci fi my favorite, when i first saw Long Time Companion and Philadelphia,we knew it would be hard, dragging up all the memories of the friends we lost, but believe me,since the early 80's ,i know the cost of this disease, but lets not blame Hollywood where there is none, let me have two hours of escape ,where i don't have to worry about the potential ticking timebomb i live with, thank you.
Was this a joke to see if anyone is paying attention? This is a magazine for people with HIV, not English Comp for Liberals Until Graduation.
I have not seen the movie but sounds like the Night of the living Dead an old Zombie movie. I would have to say after seeimg a lot of people die from the HIV virus in the 80's in end out come of HIV which we call AIDS , for most did look like the walking dead which is a good reason not want AIDS. Yes the truth before AIDS was over in the USA. The pictures of the Zombies are not to far off from the truth. Thank God AIDS is over in USA and we are now curing people with HIV with Hope and Action
I think it was an insightful probe into what inspires pop culture phenom. I have to admit, while watching WWZ, I had drawn similar conclusions, though I dont feel offended. I think that strides made by society in understanding the HIV virus will not be undermined by the way people react to zombies on the silver screen. Media has drawn influence from real-life situations for a long time, and will continue to do so, even after the cure for HIV is discovered.
why would POZ magazine post such a stupid article? is POZ magazine going to the toilet....I THINK YES!

This "article" is the epitome of what is wrong with PoMo pseudo scientific social science in the 21st century. I can't even imagine the smug sense of self satisfaction that washed over the writer as she hit "submit." This is utter garbage. Sincerely, Someone living with HIV (not a social crusader wielding an apparently useless Arts degree)
