The 28th annual National Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS (NWPHA) is taking place through March 12. This year’s events bring to light the ways HIV impacts Black youth, according to The Balm in Gilead, which organizes NWPHA.

“The purpose of the 2017 National Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS is to bring national attention to the AIDS epidemic in the United States and the extraordinary role faith communities can and are playing in AIDS prevention, education, service and advocacy,” states the NWPHA website. “The National Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS will promote the continuous national mobilization and education of faith communities to take an even greater role in the implementation of AIDS education and services within their local communities and across the nation.”

For NWPHA, The Balm in Gilead offers tool kits and resources, including a guide to family-prayer time planning and scriptural references for Christian and Islamic communities. You can also participate in a survey.
