the thing that grinds my gears about these PrEP failure cases is that the researchers rely on self-report data, the presence of PrEP is never biochemically verified, so while they say they've been on the regimen it's never verified, I am a researcher, self-report data is so unreliable, what we do know, specifically from the iPREX study, is that when taken as prescribed, it's 100% effective, and adherence was biochemically verified
Allow me to share 2 previous Truvada Prep trials - 2 yr study among 4-5 high risk groups including Rentboy & Trnsgender in key cities - NYC, LA, SF, Wash DC & Miami - right before FDA approval. The adherence details showed those who got infected or developed resistance to the virus had less than 50% adherance 2-3 our days/ week & those over 5/7 day’s still effective & on treatment. Once a day med usually have over 50% half life med concentration in bloodstream over 24 hours.

ontellb, Unless I'm missing something, they said that hair analysis showed that they were taking PrEP and the duration that they took it.
