There are many new HIV regimens with more on the way. The newest agent approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is Tivicay (dolutegravir), a once-a-day integrase inhibitor. Other meds on the horizon are a single tablet regimen containing Prezista (darunavir) and another containing Tivicay.

All that said, I’m a very conservative treater. If your meds are working, and there aren’t any problems with them, then I don’t believe that you should change your regimen. The newer meds are usually more potent than their predecessors, usually with fewer side effects. However, all meds have risks for side effects.
