I found out I was HIV + 1 Feb 2003 in the clinic entryway at Tinker AFB when I was in the Air Force Reserves. ( I was told by my commander without a Dr. even there) At first it seemed like my world just exploded around me. For the first month I had contemplated suicide instead of telling anyone. I have come to except it over the years, and my friends have never held it against me with the exception of my ex that called me AIDS Boy while she was going through nursing school.

You sir, are far from being a victim. You are no different than I am - dealing with a crappy hand that you didn’t ask for. And you aren’t just dealing. You are owning yourself and educating others on your journey. Even with HIV you have cultivated a life that others may actually envy. HIV is only a part of your medical history it’s absolutely does not define who you are. Keep on being you; I for one think your kinda awesome!

I got married to a guy who never disclosed that he was HIV positive. I found out when he ask me to look through his papers to find his birth certificate and that was when I discovered the letter from the health department. I have always took the test and as of now I am still negative. But how can someone say that they love you and then keep something like this to himself.
