We've cured 1 person and thrown many into remission. We're seeing ok results from the first FDA approved cure trial. "A cure" is conceivable, even if it is not guaranteed. Thank god for that too, because there is no "live with it". We're lepers as we are. That's not life, just the absence of death. All anyone ever talks about is prevention. Are you people really that pathetic? We deserve better than happily anticipating our own deaths for the convenience of a world that hates us.

I doubt we're close to a cure, that's a deep hole to keep shoveling money into. What I'd like to see is affordable generic first line meds made available. Let's stop breaking Medicare just to profit Gilead and GSK, etc. We have a chance to stop transmission, make treatment affordable for us that live with the virus, and be the last positive generation.

Ending IT meaning ending the transmission. If you've already got IT, you are basically screwed until you are dead. A cure for HIV positive people? Get real. There's a hundred billion dollars a year at stake for drug makers and research scientists. That sacred cash cow isn't going anywhere. The rest of us be damned.
