Although everyone should be told that they are giving sn HIV test, I do not believe every one should have the awarrness of an hepatitis test. Jerry, is this a trick question? People were offended because HIV *is* different, and some people would rather allow themselves to wither away and die than be labeled HIV+.

Maybe I'm missing something here or I'm just plain naive, but why would anyone be upset about being tested for HIV without being informed? People are tested for a wide range of conditions without being informed all the time so why is HIV different? Is this just another example of stigma fear? Even a few of my poz acquaintances thought that testing people without informing them was wrong. Their reasoning was if someone doesn't want to know, then they can use their ignorance as a defense.
