I have to say that I disagree with your article (and am an HIV positive person). I feel the film's main focus WAS incest and that mentioning HIV/AIDS in the red carpet could in fact be a "spoiler" as this happened at the very end of the film

I commented to my partner during the Oscars that no one was wearing a red ribbon. I thought I noticed a couple of purple ribbons, but no one commented on what they stood for.
