After reading this story, I found Mr. Valrie and wrote to him this morning. If more people were as motivated as he was then to learn about HIV, the world would be much farther along in terms of addressing stigma, prevention and treatment. While a sad story, it is a motivating story and I wish Mr. Ramos every success in creating H.O.M.E. As an HIV-positive person who recently adopted an HIV-positive child, it would be an interesting to socialize with others who share similar concerns and hopes.
There's a reason the motto of the Marine Corps is "Semper Fidelis" - "Always Faithful". Mr. Ramos is the best example of it. Best of luck in his mission to get HOME up and running. Semper Fi Sarge. From a former Navy Corpsman - now teaching HIV education.
Mr Ramos is a great human being, people like him make this a better world.
That was a very touching story,I take care of my brother inlaw who is HIV+ so I can understand where you coming from,I would never leave him either, hes my husbands brother, but I love him as if he was my own!! Keep your head up. I think this is a very good idea for the housing thing,if I ever need a place to stay I will have a place. Thanks
