Including the male partner in efforts to prevent mother-to-child transmission reduced the risk of HIV transmission and infant mortality by more than 40 percent compared with not involving the men, according to a study published in the Journal of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndromes and reported by aidsmap. The study was conducted between 1999 and 2005 in Nairobi, Kenya.
