Pharma will do whatever pays them the most. They're not inherently evil, just greedy. If the latest HCV drugs have shown us anything, it's that cures can be profitable. The problem isn't "Pharma", it is a government whose research priorities preclude any likelihood of a cure. To a lesser extent, the problem is with the vast network of people who have carved life niches out of this disease. If the latter had a fiduciary interest in poz people, they'd scream themselves blue about the former.

Has anyone else noticed Gillead's new HIV commercial? They've been airing it on major network TV channels, and the main message of this commercial is a sentence that is included in both the long and short versions of the commercial. "There is no cure for HIV". Are they worried? Will they succeed in curtailing the recent cure advancements? They're obviously willing to do whatever it takes to do so.

1). Why are the powers that be dragging their butts if this is so promising? Why can't we consolidate a few phases or skip a branch of the animal kingdom for especially promising concepts like this? 2). What about other reservoir cells like astrocytes? 3). Why do these sorts of questions only get asked by casual readers and not the self-appointed "leaders" and "activists" who otherwise have no trouble organizing for new prevention techniques that expand pharmaceutical markets?
