Hello All, I have been infected with HIV since September of 1979.. Yes 1979. I know this from a Blood study done my the SF DPH..... I am thriving... I have lost three Partners to AIDS and now have a new, amazing partner!! I am very blessed. I applaud the Courage of Ongina and support his announcement!!! I hope my continued LIFE even with HIV helps others to know that it is not "the end of the world!" We help all those struggling with their new found "Status" when they know our stories!!!

As a newly diagnosed guy March 2008 I have huge respect for Ongina and feel the relief he must have felt when it finally came out. Getting a face to admit to being HIV + is something that more people should do to bring down the stigma associated with it. I have decided to do this and become an activist and put myself forward to make a difference in any way I can. I know what it is like to sick believe me. I recently created a profile on myspace to get started and stand up and face the music!
