As promising as this technique is there are many hurdles that must be overcome before we'll see this used in clinic; Besides off target cleavage the biggest problem is the lability of guide RNAs that are used in targeting. The technique should work well for those cells in circulation or those cells that are removed from the body and grown, but getting it into the viral reservoirs (where the action is) is infinitely more problematic. Still an encouraging advance.
