So well-written. Thank you. I am also a long-term survivor, have seen so many of my friends die in the early 90's of the same disease I also have. I have become so desensitized at times to my own eventual death & that of family, that it frightens me at times. I wonder if other long-term survivors of HIV, cancer, & other conditions such as these have a similar insight to mortality such as mine. HIV has created a deep sense of gratitude, humbleness but also at times, guilt for being alive.
