What if Covid19 was the Wily For? What then? All I can say on that is - perhaps they got lucky this time. Oh, and is HIV really so wily? It just happens that the virus that impacts more on gay people happens to be wiley? How convenient for them that this is so. Or perhaps it's just convenient for them to say that it is so.
We're not getting a vaccine because the zeitgiest in "activism" and research is to interview "PrEP Advocates" rather than people who actually need a vaccine. And why won't anyone acknowledge the foot-dragging that has held up progress from an actual cure to would benefit those of us who already have the virus? I suppose we're not even on the radar anymore. The least you can do is to stop gaslighting us arguments that these ridiculous delays are legitimate.
Pharmaceuticals are making huge profits. In unabashed corporate welfare, PLWHIV are required to apply for their state's version of ADAP which is then the payer of last resort. Pharmaceutical companies charge an average of $45,000.00 a year for HIV medications and between Medicare, Medicaid and ADAP, they get full price. Then, they use bogus claims to attack 340b clinics who get a discount on meds used in their clinics. I guess they need the money to buy ads in POZ and on POZ.com
Why ? Because we're a "minority" compared to the infected by covid, also they don't want to stop making money, that's why !
Because they don't care about hiv patients for they're a minority as opposed to covid patients being a mayority therefore there's more pressure to find it, that's why, plain and simple !
It took 30 years to run the START study. It took the ACTG 10 years to run a therapeutic vaccine (DermaVir) study - which Russia is now looking at. There has been no shortage of delays in pursuing "excellence". When a ballistic delivery system for HIV DNA (PowderJect) was tested in HIV-NEGATIVE volunteers, the federal government *** quickly *** found just under $1,000,000.00 for that. But, the DermaVir study needed to "slow down and for safety sake" - and take ten years. WTF?

Very interesting article. Also interesting to learn about the connection between HIV vax development and Covid vax development.
