I have smoked cigarettes, pot, hash, & meth. I am 56 yrs. old, I tried cigarettes when I was 17, smoked two packs a day until I was 22, then cut down on cigarettes when I started smoking hash & meth, cut the hash & meth when I was 30, still smoked at least one pack a day until until I was 39, and have been a social smoker since. I have been HIV+ since DEC1988, and thankfully lung cancer free. Public areas should be smoke free in all 'reasonable' cases...
I hate it when people say, "bad habit." Nicotine is a drug as addictive or more addictive than heroin. I started at age 13 out of peer pressure. I tried to quit many times over the years. In 2000 I had a quadruple bypass, and successfully quit, but it is the most difficult thing I've ever done, especially while living with a smoker. A couple of years later I became very angry about all the wasted money and health. I feel so bad when I see young people smoking.

Quitting smoking is not an option, due to sleep apnea. Last time I quit my bp went so high I blew a pinhole in a kidney. CPAP helped temporarily till my body began ignoring the device, could not be turned up without blowing out my ear drum. The lung irritation is a faster trigger to keep me breathing at night than waiting for the CO2 brain regulation function to kick in.I Quit smoking I will die from a stroke. My highest BP was 290/178. I actually ended up anemic with a rbc of 5
