Ifeel that we blacks need to get real about the reality of aids.We need to have real discussion about sexuality in our homes and in our churches. As an aids prevention out reach worker I can honestly say we need to stop prepetuating the spread of aids in our community with the family secrets our unacceptance of homosexuality and lack being accountable for our actions.The churches need to stop acting like homosexuality is something new the church has always had gays who were elders of the churc
I am suick of hearing all the Hullaboloo about blacks and HIV. How about some emphasis on Whites with HIV/AIDS.
As a black woman I am so fed up with the excuses people use to keep AIDS silent. In Deutromony ( if I spelled that right ) it talks about what happens if you don't obey GOD, God gives us common sense, so black, white, chinese, mixed whatever you consider yourself to be, stop blaming the religious leaders and anyone else.
While statistics are always interesting we somehow seem to not put enough emphasis on safe, safer, and safest sex. We use mostly scare tactics to try to prevent sex all together rather than teach harm reduction methods. I wonder how many african americans just read this article and dont have a clue how to reduce there risk other than abstinance only messages. Being Poz for 17+ years now I know it is quite possible to enjoy a healthy sex life without infecting anyone! Play Safely! Know your risk!

as an aids prevention worker and aperson who is very involved in raising awareness in my community. Isay that we as apeople need to stop the madness and own up to the fact that our lack of personal responsiblity, our familysecrets our homophobia in the churches and just plain ignorance is helping to prepetuate the spread of aids in our community. wake up people we are slowly becoming an endangered species
