One part of me is delighted about this new take on "aging w/HIV/Aids. I'm 54 and 27 yrs pos. I'm lucky I've had health care and same Dr for 20+yrs. You ask us to put ourselves out here and help educate our communities, etc. I use to do that until that same community used all I had to say to target me as some type of sexual deviant out to assault there kids. Mines not a rare case. We do what we do to HELP not destroy our communities (this has been my experience in state of Va)

Because I don't have children to ignore me when I get older my greatest fear is not having anyone to help me in my old age...hiv not withstanding. Several of my friends and I are talking about sharing a home or homes. One in Florida, of course. Last thing I want to do is to move into a str8 nursing home or assisted living. Yuck! I co-moderate a group on Yahoo for hiv+ senior men to discuss these issues. positive seniors groups.yahoo.com/group/positiveseniors
