My husband and I switch from Atripla to biktarvy about 5 years ago, because Atripla had its own terrible side effects. The change of medication improved certain side effects Atripla had. Everything was fine for a couple of years until my husband labs reported kidney issues. Our doctor recommended to switch to Dovato. Overall, Dovato seems to be a much better drug. My husband labs are much better, and in general there are no side affects.

NO it's NOT... a study came out in the summer of 2018 AFTER i gained 40lbs on it stating that it caused weight gain!!! Nothing about my diet or exercise changed but my body did and I'm still paying for it! On top of that I couldn't find any lawyer that'd take the lawsuit because it made my life 100% worse than before. Now I can't get the weight off and I'm stuck like this!

The retail cost for Biktarvy oral tablet (50 mg-200 mg-25 mg) is around $3,390 for a supply of 30 tablets, depending on the pharmacy you visit according to a quick Google search - that information is critical for patients and should be part of all discussions between clinicians and patients when considering treatment options. I encourage POZ to report on U.S. pricing for all articles related to treatment to provide patients a better understanding of the high cost of USA Rx therapies
