My Infectious diseases doctor and my general practitioner used to tie themselves in knots about what they saw as my 'non-responder' status. However even though my cd4 counts are stubbornly less than 200, I have responded. I have nineteen times my nadir cd4 count. My health is good, finally my doctors are starting to be more comfortable that my health is consistently excellent. Counts aren't everything.
I have been basically stagnant with little options left.. we have opted with our specialist that once this fails we will take my last option. So don’t have choices, the good is I am undectable but my CD4 has stayed stagnant in the 350’s and my CD4 % is around 12.5 % which did increase from a low of 8.4 5 years ago but it has also become stagnant. Please bring more things to the pipeline soon.. also add more studies again as we had in the early 90’s and mid 90’s. We need them. Been + for 25yr
Thanks, Trenton. Great article and extremely relevant. Happy New Year.

i have living with HIV since 1985 and have come close to death several times.I lived with 2 t-cell for 2 years and still had to work part time to supplement my SSDI. A drug trial study brought my t-cells back to around 800 but then they have gone to 300-400 for years and i get sick all the time (where i need antibiotics to keep me healthy on a regular basis...like 5 times a year) I would be interested in being on a study for these meds to see if we could get my t-cells up higher.
