I'm HIV POZ since Jan 15th, I've been open and honest about having HIV. I was in the closet until 18 as gay, I'm 20 now and didn't want to keep more secrets, so came out at HIV POZ. I got support etc. but I wasn't too bothered because I only bareback, didn't bother doing pep. So I got pozzed and cool with that, my bad. I got the biohazard tattoo between the belly button and cock, porn actor Ethan Wolfe is one of my favs and he's poz so copied him. I'm happy being open and talk about HIV today,

Over the year's I alway's wondered about how to silently identify other's that are Poz or have Aids and being a leather man made notice of one of the International leather man winner's and how proudly he showed off his biohazard tat on his forearm in the picture that appeared on the cover of Poz magazine and began to realize he was identifying him self as poz then begain seeing the symbol on other's after that time and was able to converse with other's at length about thing's we had in common.

Eliza Jane no it definately is not inapproiate to adorn one's self with such a thing it's simply showing support for those of us living with it. When i was working i used to adorn my white work shirt collar with a cross ribbon that I had to expplain to many customer's over the year's because the ribbon was red on one half and pink on the other in support of aids & breast cancer both in unison .

In ways I wish we all would have a way to idenify each other, You see so many people everyday and you know someone else also has it in the same room with you, but who???? it would be nice to know who? Just my thoughts, and yes I'm HIV+ and I said no more tats but I must say I;m thinking about it.....

I am not living with HIV, but have worked in the field for 12 years and have lost many friends to the disease, while having many more who live with it daily. I am a 2-time breast cancer survivor, and have planned for many years to get a tat with the red and pink ribbons, and "be here for the cure" in big ass letters around them. When I have the money saved, I will do so...is that a faux pas to tat the red ribbon if a person is not positive?

My friend has the biohazzard symbol. I asked him about it and he told me he was POZ. I compimented it and we resumed conversation about something else. I loved him before and still love him after finding out his status. I guess it brought us closer just knowing a little more about each other.

survivor 19 years. hate the biohazard idea. maybe a small red ribbon tattoo on anterior wrist that my watch band can hide in certain settings. But would be nice not to have to fool with the rejection when you do tell. that is why i like sites like this so people know up front.
