Well so much for solidarity with other oppressed people. But so long as you got your moment in the spotlight. I'm not sure how proud I would be carrying a symbol of an organization that sued the Gay Games organizing committee for daring to use the name "Gay Olympics". Too much to ask to take a principled stance in support of other oppressed people. Remind me not to join your affinity group. Ironic you talk about physical threats yet the only one who got manhandled was the Majora. Shame.
Great story and great job. There should be more people out there like you. Everyone has a right to protest, especially if there are wrongful things being done to other people. But this was not the time or place to protest in such a way. Good thing you took control of the situation. But then again, maybe a world wide protest is not such a bad thing too, considering how many people are infected and still dying around the world. They are getting free global news coverage, makes you think too huh.

To My New Family in POZ, Thank you for the wonderful and encouraging response to my carrying the Olympic Torch while in San Francisco on its journey to the Olympic Games in China. Thanks to the Editor and Staff of POZ for allowing me to share my very unique story with all your readers. Locally, my Latino friends are gratified I have added a Latino face to the issue of HIV and my Veteran comrades are heralding me as a champion for not forgetting to mention the needed of US Veterans. Peace
