I agree with this policy as a public health doctor with emphasis on public health effects more than individual patient benefits. Definitely individual clients benefit from taking HIV meds sooner than later in the diagnosis, it is the long term side effects of the new HIV meds that's not yet known and may have unexpected consequences, that is concerning in this new direction.

I'm glad I made the choice to go on HIV meds before my t cells dropped below 500. It's good to see the science support my personal choice. I have side effects from HIV, but no side effects from my meds (truvada and intelence).
