Could blocking both the R5 and X4 receptors simultaneousy prevent the cell from functioning normally? If not, could this theoretically provide a cure for HIV? How far down the pipeline are X4 antagonists?
This was a very good explanation of a very complex topic.

LM -- Excellent question. X4 antagonists are still in the early stages of testing, but their potential for use in combination with R5 antagonists is pretty terrific. - Tim Horn, Senior Editor, AIDSmeds.com
