Mr. Crossman: Much like Harvey Milk and César Chávez, you are yet another hero to add to my list of brave and intelligent men that I look up to. Please know that you are a beacon of hope. --Your friendly neighborhood Gay, Latino, Poz, Social Worker Extraordinaire
I have been sero=positive for 36 years. I still work full-time. I am almost 70 now...wow, a real LTS! I have never revealed my HIV status in the context of my profession...and I have a very respected position in it. This article, and the courage of the writer, is making me think, and think HARD, about what I could still do to impact positively someone...if only I shared my long story of struggle, survival, and thriving.
Thank you for sharing. As one who has been + for 30 years I appreciate every story, every experience. Your timing is your personal choice and is one I support. Your students are truly fortunate to have you as a role model and as beneficiaries of your counsel. Your contribution to this world is invaluable.????????
Thank you for your article! It's good to know that even though we are stigmatized we can hold down professional positions and still hold our heads up high. As opposed to being stereotyped as a drug addict, etc by mainstream America. You are very brave! Godspeed!
Thank you for making yourself visible at a time when we are being attacked from so many sides.
Brian
What an inspiring article to read, your comments of fears of repercussions are not lost on me as I've just put my first name here as an HIV+ gay man. Your words to the younger generation being more prepared are inspiring, they see the world differently and are changing it, but as Trump reminds you of Regan, young people need to fight for their freedom and participate in making our world better. You do have something for them, your courage to be open about your status, it's an example to all.
