I've been living with HIV since 1989. Ive been excepted and refused. The pills that I've taken in 30 years has made my immune system like awesome. I've hit in the 1800's on my CD4 count. I feel I'm very blessed. I've experienced brain surgery, knee surgery, catheter ablation on my heart, and I last year I had breast cancer. My immune system is so strong, that I beat all my surgeries and breast cancer. I'm 57 years right now, I am single, and I believe that being hiv-positive saved my life. ☝️

My kids grew up in a world that included all sorts of people because I am poz. I worked for an ASO, was deeply involved in federal, state and local planning and logisitics. They grew up thinking it completely normal to be around people with HIV, from meetings, church dinners (for PWAs), friends, work, and they often came with me to the prevention and awareness presentations given in churches, schools and businesses. My kids see the world in a different way than most and I'm thankful for that.
