At a glance, it appears that article is not about the event in Cannes that I cited. The article is about a cure initiative. The event was about a specific auction that raised a significant sum of money, deserving more attention than "activism". Perhaps equally worrisome as its reporting priorities is the possibility that this magazine is unaware of specific fundraisers being held by major HIV organizations, conflating them with broader initiatives they may support.
Michael - Here is coverage of the story you cite www.poz.com/articles/amfar_cure_institute_1_26863.shtml
At the same time, AmFar raised 30 million, much of which will go to cure research. Poz ignored that story, focusing on a gala that celebrates "the contributions and history of activism". True activism aims to change the world, not institutionalize some clique with an awards ceremony. "Activism", on the other hand, is a self perpetuating machine, only tangentially concerned with people who live with HIV. Does Poz support activism or "Activism"?
