An erection-enhancing condom has been recommended for European approval, Reuters reports. The CSD500 latex condom (a.k.a. “the Viagra condom”) contains a gel that dilates the arteries, which increases blood flow to the penis. The British company Futura Medical has licensed the CSD500 for sale to the owner of Durex, the world’s top-selling condom brand. Futura said it would take about a month to get CE (Conformité Européenne or European Conformity) mark certification, which will allow the manufacturer to sell the condoms in 29 European countries and other non-European countries. The owner of Durex is expected to launch the CSD500 by the end of 2011.
