The World Bank’s spending on HIV/AIDS and reproductive health initiatives dropped from $2.7 billion in 2003 to $1.5 billion in 2006, according to a report by Washington, D.C.-based watchdog Gender Equity. The 90-page report determined that several other multilateral development banks are not living up to their commitments to support these projects either, including the African Development Bank, the Asian Development Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank.
