Your story is so heartbreaking, you are a very strong woman and I thank God for giving you the strength to overcome what you went through, continue with your work and God bless you.
My sympathies to your plight. Not all those on the sex offender registry are convicted because they assaulted a child. Politicians and law enforcement have scared people into believing that those on the registry are a continued risk to society. Recidivism for those convicted is less than ten percent. Politicians and law enforcement swear that the registry isn't a form of punishment and yet it forces people on the registry into chronic unemployment, and homelessness.
What a brave and admirable person you are LaShanda. Thank you for your courage and using your voice to make a real difference in the world. You totally ROCK!
I commend you for your stamina for fighting this. I know that your having registered as "a sex offender" is absurd but, I guess once it is done it is. I am not sure why "your partners" have the ability to use your HIV status as an indignation against you. That is absurd! Good luck to you & I wish all the luck! Keith
I am sooo sory that this all happened to you!!. It wasn't fair at all!!. It proves that men are terrible. Yes something (definitely) needs to be done about these HIV laws. This is enough to make me not ever deal with another male ever again!!
Lashanda Thank You for sharing your story. I feel for you and understand your frustration. I wish you the best success in your fight. But the problems go much deeper than the fight over HIV laws. The sex offender registry is a total failure, it accomplishes absolutely nothing and costs tax payers Billions of dollars. I to am on the registry for a crime that never happened. Never even accused of contact with a minor or anyone else. Not pornography related, nothing to do with sex.
This article makes my heart ache. Thank you for sharing your story. It brings attention to these unjust laws, especially in this age of undetectable treatments.

These are scary days, I live in Oklahoma where they are coming at coming at drag queens full force,I don't have sex here, because I know I won't stand a chance here in court, being Hiv, black , gay, the deck stacked against me,red states are becoming hard to live in, maybe one day the right attorney can reverse that sexoffender registration that's rediculos, good luck.
