I am not at all surprised by this. Older people are more established than younger people. We don't support our gay youth. It is an everyone for themselves attitude. I have more hetero friends than gay, because they accept me for me and not on a sexual or looks basis. I have lost my looks, so I really have nothing going for me in the gay world. I feel sorry for young gay people. They have so much against them, and the gay community is not there for them either. Pity that we place looks above love

Really!? I'm 61, retired and caring for my elderly father. I was doing much better when I was younger, working and independent.

I've been poz since 2005 and will be 60 this coming July. I have had to learn how to be self sufficient because I don't have much of a support group. I've learned how to live alone and actually enjoy it. I have no delusions of ever being in a relationship again. I'll bet that there are a lot of people in my age group that feel the same way. Even though I have a lot of good qualities I'm not good looking, so I never get the chance to show anyone those qualities.
