Shawn, I don't know what to say. Tommy's death tore a piece of my heart out, but knowing that he reached out to someone finally, brings... I don't know that 'comfort' is the word... but that's the one I'll use. Tommy's health was a constant source of pain for him, (and us) - but I don't think the physical aspect ever compared with the pain he dealt with alone, just attempting to cope with life's unfairness. All I could think of while I read your post was a night so many years ago, when Tommy held my hand in the dark and told me repeatedly to shut up so he could tell me something that killed his soul to speak out loud. My heart broke that night. If your book brings the sort of comfort and support that it obviously brought to Tommy, then you have my lifetime of respect and gratitude. Thank you most sincerely, - A.

Shawn, wow. Thank you for sharing that. We're all intertwined, aren't we? Tommy sounded like a wonderful young man. Now he is free from HIV. R.I.P. Tommy
