LOL damn Ann they ain't got no herb on that island? I am a bit envious though... wish my Atripla still gave me that funky woozie feeling. It just keeps me up at night now.
Sorry, Annette, I just realised I called you by your last name in my comment above. Ooops! Ann
Liz, I appreciate and thank you for your concern, but one dose of Sustiva wasn't going to harm me. If it truly was a "sacrifice", it was one on an emotional level, not physical. I stand by what I said in the blog that for me, it was the right thing to do at the time. It's not something that will be repeated either. Once was enough. Ann
Anne, why would you take meds that weren't prescribed to you? It's a touching story, but Sustiva totally sucks. Why in God's name would you do that? Do you want to self sacrifice yourself for Charlie? If so, why?

Hi Ann, Have you had a genotype done since taking Efavirenz? It is quite easy to develop resistance towards (just one mutation), and might have skuppered your chances in the future (even though, as you say, you prefer Reyataz). You might be have been lucky though, but pregnant women in resource limited settings who are given Nevirapine to prevent Mother to Baby transmission often develop resistance after just one shot. Nevirapine belongs in the same class as Sustiva. Michael.
