I love this time of the year in our country!

Seriously, the weather is almost perfect--at least in Tennessee-- where it is not too cold and not too hot, and I want to be outdoors all day long. And people seem to be a better mood.
It is also the time of the year that many AIDS service organizations hold their annual AIDS Walks and Runs to fundraise for their organizations to continue doing their important work.  And, because I can pull out my old, tired jokes about about wondering “why people want to walk and possibly catch AIDS.” (I know... roll your eyes!)
This year I wanted to highlight a few big ones:
  1. Portland AIDS Walk sponsored by Quest Diagnostics
  2. Chevron NO/AIDS Walk 2015
  3. AIDS Walk Los Angeles

PORTLAND AIDS WALK sponsored by Quest Diagnostics was held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 and according to their website raised just under $500,000! This is amazing.  I want to mention a few of the top fundraisers: Nathan Smith (who I also donated to) raised over $17,000 and Daniel Borgen raised just over $7000!  That is amazing and I am impressed!  Not enough love is given to those individuals who tirelessly raise funds for HIV service organizations. So, thank you all!

CHEVRON NO/AIDS WALK 2015 presented by Avita Pharmacy and Quest Diagnostics is slated for Saturday, September 26th in New Orleans. Toby Lefort is leading the fundraising this year so far with over $16,000 raised for NO/AIDS Task Force, now a division of CrescentCare. In 26 years, this walk has raised over 5 million dollars that stays in the New Orleans community! And as you can tell, this walk has great corporate sponsorships!

AIDS WALK LOS ANGELES is happening on October 11th in LA with the premier sponsors of Quest Diagnostics and Gilead. In 31 years, this walk has raised more than $79 millions for service organizations in Los Angeles county. And this year, the walk is expected to attract more than 25,000 individuals!  That is amazing and insane! (I am not a fan of crowds-- except when raising big money for HIV service organizations!)
There are obviously tons of other great events and walks happening and raising money for local HIV service organizations all around the country!  Share a success story or promo an event that you love in the comments below about a local HIV service organization!
Cheers to everyone!
XO!
