Today is September 11 and naturally I think of all the heros in my world. My partner Tommy who although now retired was an active member of the FDNY and lives each day with the horror and health related issues as a result of that horrible day 7 years ago. I also think of another personal hero, and that is the author of this blog, Annette. Although I doubt she would remember me, Annette came to talk to a small group of HIVers, myself recently diagnosed at the time. Annette will never know the profound impact she had on me. Meeting Annette gave me a swift kick in the vertual ass and was the true turning point in my life with HIV. After meeting Annette I went from (in my own head) dying from HIV to living with HIV and wanting to make a difference. Annette, you rock!
Hope you spoke up in class: A+ for you! After having carried out your "day" today, you will have been more pro-active and open-minded than most people, no matter their politics. You are a fabulous role-model to everyone: we need to inform ourselves, follow the issues, and VOTE accordingly. BRAVA, bella!
