they already made their statements in support of the HIV-affected in ways most us will never get the chance. They act, period! That's what they do. They are not all closet Sean Penns waiting for a "cause" or charitable effort to be aligned with. I thank both for what they already did; to expect more is sort of weird; it's like asking a painter to become a homeless advocate just because he perfectly captured the expression of a homeless person on canvus. Everyone in life does not contribute in the same way; gay men sometimes take an artistic accomplishment and either ignore it ( often if it's the effort of another gay man) or expect it to go super- political,(if its an established and financially successful artist). If you feel such passion, junp in the fire yourself

The movie delivered the message. If the actors mention more in an acceptance speech thats fine but really feel the need to deliver the message. We should be past that by now.

Saw the Dallas Buyers Club and was a good movie...Matthew McConaghey did say at speech time that this was never a movie about dying, but a movie about living and keep on! So he did briefly say something of importance, but with looks like his who cares...he is gorgeous!
