Richard JMV - Thanks for your courage to share your story. Hopefully others may connect with some part of it and learn something from your experience that they can use to help themselves avoid some of the pain and problems addiction can cause. Addiction of any kind - - to drugs, alcohol, sex, gambling, whatever - - may seem fun to start but will wreak havoc on our lives if we give it enough time. My experience was brief, and I'm lucky to have survived. Glad you have, too. Sending love to you!

Well, I think these Blog Posts of Richard's, that I'd not otherwise see if they weren't published serially here, are informative, matter of fact and educational. They are not telling us to do what he did. He is not telling us to do what he did. But we - or many of us I think - can see and understand the desires involved and how easy we could have indulged as he did. And some readers might be indulging right now, so...

Fenwaynemo, really is that where we are that we must now bash one another. Angelone, I understand where you are coming from, if I could afford it I would do the same. Since I can not I have to seek out those that wanna get off and have some fun or just bust. I would go to that popular park near downtown and seek out as many as would have me....

I'm a sex addict. I spend an inordinate amount of money on sex clubs and escorts to satisfy my sexual urges. It doesn't help that I'm not young and physically appealing, but I'm persistent and flush with money. I used to crave relationship or some kind of meaningful connection, but now I'm satisfied with any attractive large c**k.

I know I don't have to read it. Still, POZ doesn't have to publish them either. These stories of idiots wrecking their lives are not inspirational nor constructive. The space is better used with inspirational stories of HIV+ folks who have overcome crisis or difficult situations for the better. This is not a "human interest" story to break the academic, informational context of the magazine; the reason for my subscription. My interest! This kind of stuff went out a long time ago. Grow up!
