He was obviously a very nice as well as a very kind person. He was a great singer, performer and writer. His latter years seemed to have been a struggle sadly. May he be in peace. He gave a lot. Thank you to you, George Michael. It's sad to see you go so young.

I lived in southern California during the early years of the epidemic (Laguna Beach). Having witnessed the deaths of 57 close friends through the years, I think it is important to keep in mind the actions of the religious right during this time.They fiercely opposed the use of any public finds for research into HIV. The subsequent delay (due also to other factors), in the development of effective treatment options denied thousands a fighting chance at survival.
