Don't let George bother you too much, John. Those who can't, comment. Bringing up the issue of the GLAAD Awards and their omission of grassroots voices has implications far beyond my own blog, obviously. Bloggers previously highlighted among nominees write about their experiences and the issues related to being transgender, lesbian, a person of color, and a variety of other marginalized voices that GLAAD has effectively made invisible by dropping the Outstanding Blog category. The very nature of writing about our experience draws attention to ourselves. If the cost of that is the occasional resentful remark by anonymous clods who have nothing of their own to contribute, I'm perfectly fine with that.
Now I have a legitimate reason not to watch the GLAAD awards. Also have to wonder what the hell is georg's problem...besides sounding like an asshole.
